About Me:
I began my teaching career in the area of music, teaching at the University of Louisville Music Preparatory Department and then in public schools. After receiving my elementary education certification, I taught a variety of grade levels and subject areas from Kindergarten through Middle School. I served as a Middle School Assistant Principal and as an Elementary Principal for a total of thirteen years in the Fox Chapel Area School District in Western Pennsylvania. In 1993, I began serving as a Principal & Administrative Mentor through the University of Pittsburgh Educational Leadership Initiative. During this time, I became an embedded Educational Consultant, working with schools (K-12) to improve student achievement and professional pedagogy. I am delighted to be a part of the Elementary Education Department at KU and am currently supervising student teachers as they finish their certification.
