Dr. Alisa Hobbs


Dr. Alisa Hobbs began her academic career pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from King's College. She continued her academics at The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a Masters Degree in Teaching and Curriculum. In August of 2016, Dr. Hobbs earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Language, Culture, and Society from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Hobbs holds a Secondary Education Certificate from the state of Pennsylvania. She has worked as District Policy Director for Pennsylvania State Representative Michael G. Tobash, as well as served as a founder and organizer of the 125th Legislative District's Teacher's Coalition in Pennsylvania. In addition to working for the government, she advocates on behalf of teachers and students in the overuse of high-stakes standardized testing. Her prior instruction includes time spent at The Pennsylvania State University, Schuylkill Campus, McCann School of Business, Pottsville Area School District, and Schuylkill Intermediate Unit.

Fun Fact: She likes to paddle board with her family.
