Dr. Patricia Walsh Coates

Biography: Patricia Walsh Coates is a Professor in the Department of Secondary Education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she also serves as Director of the Secondary Graduate and Doctoral programs. Dr. Walsh Coates teaches graduate courses in data driven instruction, curriculum design, and instructional methodology. Her research interests include gender equity in education, sex education in the United States from a historic perspective, and birth control politics. She recently contributed chapters to the following books: Between the World and the Urban Classroom and School Counseling Practicum and Internship ~ 30 Essential Lessons. 

Fun Fact: Dr. Walsh Coates' first career was as a National Park Service Park Ranger at Independence National Historical Park.
