Biography:
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Hsu came to the U.S. to study about crime in different cultures. After receiving her Master's degree, she worked as a Crime Analyst in a local police agency, analyzing incident reports and preparing crime maps to assist in patrol and investigation tasks. Her doctoral research thereafter was profoundly influenced by the professional experience she acquired.

Dr. Hsu's current research focuses primarily on the street dynamics of drug dealing and the interaction between drug dealers and environmental settings. Her research study extends to the application of Google Street View to examine environmental characteristics for crime and disorder-related research.  She actively seeks out opportunities for KU students to gain real world application and experience in the field of law enforcement.    Dr. Hsu enjoys spending time with her family, kids, and playing tennis.
