Student Involvement

Studies consistently show that college students are more likely to successfully graduate if they are involved in activities outside the classroom.  Kutztown University offers students a multitude of opportunities to get involved, and the Department of Geography hosts several such opportunities.

    The Geography Club is open to all KU students and offers myriad opportunities for student involvement including:

    • Attendance at professional meetings
    • Local community outreach programs
    • Mentoring and informal tutoring

    • Movie Nights for screening of geographically and environmentally relevant movies

  • Gamma Theta Upsilon the International Geographical Honor Society

    The Gamma Psi Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon was established at Kutztown University in the spring of 1965.  Since then, about 400 outstanding students from all sorts of majors have been inducted to the Chapter.  Click the link above to find out more.

  • Climate Science Reading Group

    Students interested in participating in a faculty-lead reading group focusing on published works on climate science and climate change research are encouraged to contact Dr. Michael Davis.  This is a great opportunity to informally study arguably the most important topic of our time, climate change, and to get intellectually and socially involved with fellow students and Geography faculty.
