Career Paths

Graduates of the KU Environmental Science Program have been very successful in obtaining environmental positions. Results of a recent survey indicate that 89% of the program's graduates are currently employed in jobs related to their Environmental Science major. Graduates are working for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Ohio Public Interest Research Group, the U.S. Department of Labor - Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, to name a few places.

Program graduates are employed as nature preserve managers, environmental scientists, quality control specialists, product and process engineers, environmental biologists, environmental geologists, environmental chemists, laboratory managers, research scientists, environmental educators, safety specialists, environmental consultants, as well as other environmental occupations. In addition, a number of KU Environmental Science graduates have pursued and obtained advanced degrees.
