Paralegal Studies Options

Political Science with Paralegal Studies:

The completion of the Political Science with Paralegal Studies program of study will enable students to find employment as a paralegal, or enhance their major. It is also beneficial for individuals preparing for Law School. Students will take courses such as Civil Litigation and Procedure, Torts and Personal Injury, Law Office Management, and Legal Research & Writing in this fascinating program.

The program entails the study of the paralegal profession as well as the limitations imposed by unauthorized practice of law. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to public except as permitted by law.

Public Administration with Paralegal Studies:

The completion of the B.S. Public Administration with Paralegal Studies program will enable students to find employment as a paralegal or enhance their major. It is also beneficial for individuals preparing for Law School. Students will take courses such as Civil Litigation and Procedure, Torts and Personal Injury, Law Office Management, and Legal Research & Writing in this fascinating program.

The program entails the study of the paralegal profession as well as the limitations imposed by unauthorized practice of law. Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to public except as permitted by law.

Returning Students 

  • Students currently enrolled as of Spring 2011 with declared majors who do not change majors must meet the old general education program requirements. 
  • Currently matriculated students with 30 or more credits, declaring a major or changing a major, will remain in the old general education program. (The total number of credits will be calculated at the time the major is officially declared or changed).
  • Currently matriculated students with fewer than 30 credits, declaring a major or changing a major, will be enrolled in the new general education program. (The total number of credits will be calculated at the time the major is officially declared or changed).
  • Effective Fall 2014, any students declaring or changing majors will be enrolled in the new general education program.

New Students

Beginning in Fall 2011, new students will be admitted under the new general education program.
Currently matriculated students with fewer than 30 credits, declaring a major or changing a major, will also be enrolled in the new general education program.
