Biographical Statement

Yoon Mi Kim earned a PhD in social work from the University of Pittsburgh; a master's degree in social work from California State University at Los Angeles; and a BA in social welfare from SungKyunKwan University, South Korea. Dr. Kim is Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and teaches in the BSW and MSW programs.

Her professional interests include acculturation, child/youth identity development, education policy, educational achievement, ethnic diaspora, secondary post-traumatic stress, long-term care policy, and elder abuse.
