Music has been a Gozzo family tradition for three generations, from Ron's grandfather accompanying silent movies on violin in the 1920's, to his famous uncle, Conrad Gozzo, lead trumpet for such greats as Sinatra, Peggy Lee and Woody Herman. Ron Gozzo began his musical training on the piano at age 4 and by 10 began performing in classical competitions and recitals. At age 9 he was introduced to the saxophone and began studying both the jazz and classical genres. He was awarded a full four year scholarship to the Greater Hartford Academy for the Performing Arts, and from there to William Paterson University for his Bachelors in Jazz Performance. While at William Paterson, Gozzo began to play at such New York jazz venues as the Village Gate, Cornelia Street Cafe, 55 Bar, and many others. In 2001 Ron Gozzo completed his master's degree at Brooklyn College and was employed as a Professor in the field of Jazz. In addition to Brooklyn College, Gozzo has taught at NYU, IAR, Kingsborough College and various NY public and private schools. He has conducted master classes in jazz and music production at various universities throughout the US and Europe.

As a working saxophonist and leader of The Gozzo Group, Ron Gozzo has toured throughout the US, Caribbean Islands, Europe, Asia and Mid-East for over 20yrs, recently finishing up a USO tour for our troops in the Mid-East. As a working musician in NY for over 20 years, Gozzo has had the pleasure of playing alongside jazz legends, such as Butch Morris, Joe Henderson, Dave Valentine, Chico Mendoza, Paquito D'Rivera, and others. He has worked and studied with many leading jazz figures of today including, Joe Lovano, Steve Wilson, Angela Sanchez, Dave Ballou, Mark and Allen Ferber, and others.

Ron Gozzo is the owner, composer, producer, arrange and music supervisor of RGT Music Productions (1999). He has worked on national campaigns with such clients as Mercedes-Benz, PIP Printing, Converse, Advil, Nicoderm CQ, Bayer, Chevy, and others. In addition he has composed for such networks as LOGO , Mtv, OWN, TLC, Golf Ch, PBS, Fox Sports, AMC, CNN, NBC, CBS, A&E, ABC, Travel Ch, Discovery Ch, Nick and the list goes on.

Ron is a Warner Chappell Music Library writer and has written 4 double CDs of music in jazz, light acoustic, hip-hop and film score. He has composed for films appearing on Showtime, Sundance, and IFC channels. He has also has produced and written with many singer songwriters in NY. His songs have appeared on Smallville (WB) Clubhouse (CBS), MTV (Made & Sixteen and Pregnant)
