VPA Open Houses


Join us for a College of Visual and Performing Open House! Learn about programs of study, meet faculty, visit classes, and tour state-of-the-art facilities.

  • Wednesday, February 20, 2019 - Today's VPA Open House has been cancelled, rescheduled for Feb. 27 An email will be forthcoming to everyone registered with the schedule.

High school seniors applying to KU may also pre-register for and participate in a Portfolio Review (visual art majors only) or Audition (music majors only). High school juniors and sophomores are also invited to attend this event to get a head-start on their college selection process.

9:30 a.m. Worried You'll be Starving in a Creative Career? Don't be!
10:00 a.m. Information sessions to learn about majors in Visual Arts, Music, Cinema & Communication
11:00 a.m. Specialized tours for Visual Arts, Music, Cinema & Communication
12:00 p.m. Visit classes and/or lunch
12:00 p.m. Portfolio reviews and auditions begin (optional, pre-registration required)
1:00 p.m. Campus tours and/or lunch and/or visit classes

No portfolio review or audition is required for admission to these majors: Art History; Cinema, Television, and Media Production; Communication Studies; Social Media Theory and Strategy.

Register online for the February 20 VPA Open House!

Registration closes two days prior to the event. If you miss the deadline, please consider attending as a walk-in registrant. Arrive at the VPA Open House before 9:00 a.m. to complete the registration card.

Apply to KU during this event and have your $35 admission application waived! Admissions personnel will be available to answer questions regarding the application process, programs of study, and transfer credits.
