Mathematics  offers a wide spectrum of potential careers to those students interested in analytical thinking and creative problem solving. This program is conducted by the Mathematics Department within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Studying Mathematics as a major or minor at Kutztown provides students with essential tools in many fields, including natural science, engineering, medicine, and the social sciences and prepares them to succeed in workforce areas that involve this problem-based subject. Mathematics courses range from theory to application. Classes in the mathematics department include calculus, statistics, probability, geometry, algebra and discrete mathematics.

Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education/Mathematics

In conjunction with the College of Education, Kutztown University offers a B.S. in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics for those students who wish to teach.

Career Opportunities
Students who graduate with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics can find work in the government, education, business, and industry. Students may pursue careers in operations research, statistics, actuarial science, physical sciences and computer science, among others.  

The program also prepares students to pursue a graduate degree.

Admission Requirements

Transfer students must have a combined GPA of 2.25 or higher from all institutions they previously attended.
