Accounting - Business Administration

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

Accounting, often called the language of business, teaches the principles and methods by which organizations maintain their record-keeping systems. Accounting explores the cause and effect relationship that various financial events have on every part of the organization and how accounting information impacts day-to-day management decisions.

Students at KU have access to vital internship opportunities that provide real-world experience in the accounting profession. Plus, other experiential opportunities are offered to students through the Kutztown University Accounting Club (KUAC). KUAC is a student-led community that brings together a network of students, alumni, faculty and accounting professionals who are committed to shaping and developing the next generation of public, government, and corporate accountants. The club’s programs and events, such as Meet the Firms Night, Student Night @ the Institute of Management Accountants, or an annual Golf Outing, are both informative and enjoyable.

Career Opportunities
The Accounting program is broad enough to prepare students for careers in public accounting, industry, advisory services, government and not-for-profit organizations. Among the ranks of our alumni are managing partners of major metropolitan tax practices of Big Four accounting firms, managing partners of regional accounting firms, chief financial officers and controllers.  Graduates of our Accounting program become Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Certified Management Accountants (CMA), Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) and Certified Forensic Accountants (CFE).
