We are excited to welcome you to Kutztown University!
Our office wants your travel to KU to be as easy as possible. Please read all of the information on this page before you make any non-refundable travel plans. All travel, transportation, and hotels are at your own expense.
We recommend that you choose one of the following airports for your entry to the U.S.:
- Newark Liberty Airport (EWR)
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
- Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE)
- John F. Kennedy Airport, New York City (JFK)
We ask that you email the following information to us before the first day of orientation:
- Flight number
- Departure city and time
- Arrival city and time
- Expected arrival time and location in Kutztown
Travel to KU from the airport is not always direct or accessible by public transportation. We highly recommend booking a private car service to travel to campus if you will not be utilizing our shuttle pick-up. Here is some information that we hope you will find to be helpful as you plan your travel.

Pick-up by KU
We will be arranging a pick-up from Newark International Airport on Tuesday, January 16th. The anticipated pick-up time will be 2:00 pm, so if you will be utilizing this service, please choose your flight accordingly with enough time to clear immigrations and customs. More details will be forthcoming.
If you would like to be picked-up from Newark Airport, please email international@kutztown.edu by December 20th with your full flight details.

Travel by Private Car Service
After a long international trip, you might want to consider hiring a car service to pick you up at the airport. It is more expensive than taking a bus to Kutztown, however, it is very convenient. The driver will pick you up in the arrival area of the airport, assist with your luggage, and drive you to campus. We recommend scheduling your car service pickup prior to your arrival. If you choose to hire a car service, it is at your own expense.

Transportation from Newark (EWR) to Kutztown
DIRECTIONS FROM NEWARK INTERNATIONAL (EWR) AIRPORT TO kutztown
Take the Trans-Bridge bus to Allentown, then a taxi/UBER/Lyft to Kutztown.
Trans-Bridge Lines picks up passengers at Newark Airport at Stop #1 at Terminals A and B and at Stop #2 at Terminal C. These stops are on the HOV Roadway, which is located on the lower level of the airport outside of baggage claim.

Transportation from Philadelphia to Kutztown
There are currently no buses running between Philadelphia Airport and Kutztown.
Please use a private car service to travel to campus.

Transportation from Allentown Airport
Students should take a taxi/UBER/Lyft from the airport to Kutztown.

Transportation from New York City (JFK) to Kutztown
DIRECTIONS FROM JOHN F. KENNEDY (JFK) AIRPORT TO PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL IN MANHATTAN
You will need to take the air train from Terminal 8 in JFK to Jamaica, and then Penn Station, then walk over to the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT)
Take the Trans-Bridge bus to Allentown, then a taxi/UBER/Lyft to Kutztown.

Travel Tips
Make a plan to get from the airport to Kutztown University before you travel.
- Coordinate flights and ground transportation schedules to arrive at Kutztown University on the date you are scheduled to move into your residence hall. You can stay overnight at an airport hotel or come to Kutztown and stay at a hotel in town if you get to the U.S. before your campus move-in day.
- Notify the Office of Admissions & Services as soon as you finalize your flight, transportation, and any hotel reservations.
