Transfer Admissions Criteria
Transfer applicants are students who have attended a post-secondary institution after high school graduation/GED completion who have earned 12 or more college-level credits and who wish to earn a degree at Kutztown University. If you are not seeking a degree from KU and are only interested in taking single courses, please see Other Admissions Options to see which option best suits your needs.
Most programs require at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in all postsecondary coursework for degree-seeking admission. The following programs require a higher GPA and/or additional requirements:
- Applied Digital Arts | portfolio
- Art | portfolio
- Art Education | portfolio and GPA of 3.0 or higher and additional requirements based on the number of credits earned
- Art Education
: Alternative Settings | portfolio - Bio/Pre-Med | GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Commercial Music | audition
- Communication Design | portfolio
- Education | GPA of 3.0 or higher and additional requirements based on the number of credits earned
- Mathematics | GPA of 2.25 or higher
- Music | audition
- Music Education | audition GPA of 3.0 or higher and additional requirements based on the number of credits earned
- Music Performance | audition
- Psychology | GPA of 2.0 or higher and General Psychology course with a grade of C or higher
