How to Apply for Admission
Kutztown University operates on rolling admissions, meaning that we review applications as they are completed, and inform students of the decision at that time. Admitted students are able to commit to attending KU as soon as they are admitted, or continue to gather information and commit at any point prior to the May 1 decision deadline. Admitted students will pay the Advanced Registration Deposit to confirm their spot in the class.
Students are welcome to complete the Kutztown University application or the Common Application. Links to both the KU application and Common Application can be found here.

The Ideal College Environment
Close to Home, and a World Away
Kutztown University is a medium-sized institution located in a small town that is close to the major cities of Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Our campus is home to professors who are the experts in their field in addition to a diverse student body to form a supportive campus community where students become the best versions of themselves. While the majority of our students are from Pennsylvania, there is representation from 37 states and 38 countries at KU! Golden Bears get involved outside of the classroom. There are over 200 clubs and activities in addition to NCAA, club, and intramural sports. It’s the best of everything your student could want in a college experience!
Small Classes
The average class size is 24 students, and the student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1. This means that students connect closely with faculty and fellow students, which is important – faculty will know students by name, and know their interests and strengths. All of our classes are taught by KU faculty, not teaching assistants, and 92% of faculty hold the highest degree possible in their field.
Faculty Advisors
Students work with a faculty member in their major to assist them with course selection each semester. Faculty advisors are great resources to help students plan for graduate or doctoral degree programs, internships, and jobs.Residence Hall Programming
Students who live on campus take advantage of programming that helps them become familiar with resources and offices on campus beginning freshman year. This helps them to become comfortable seeking out assistance and being proactive in their academic journeys.
