Scholarship/Tuition and Other Resources

The following is a list of federal and state scholarships.

Veterans Benefits Programs

VA MGIB Chapters

Tuition Assistance

  • Tuition Assistance (TA) - All TA for Active Duty, USAR, and ARNG Soldiers must be requested through GoArmyEd.  In some cases, the FTA can impact other sources of financial aid such as the PA State Grant (PHEAA), Federal SEOG, and Federal Stafford Loan.  If you are receiving Chapter 33 benefits, your TA funds may be limited or reduced.  If you are receiving Chapter 1606 benefits, you need to choose which courses will use Chapter 1606 and which ones will use TA - both benefits cannot be used for one course.  Contact KU Office of Student Accounts for details.
  • Pennsylvania National Guard Education Assistance Program (EAP) - If you are in the PA National Guard, be sure to apply for your tuition benefits through your unit if you are eligible.  In some cases, EAP can reduce other sources of financial aid.

Types of Financial Aid

File the FAFSA to apply for all federal and state financial aid (i.e. Federal Pell Grants, Work-Study, Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Federal Direct Plus Loans, PHEAA State Grant, etc.)

Veteran Opportunities

  • Troops to Teachers - A U.S. Department of Education and Department of Defense program that is available through the KU College of Education for eligible military personnel wishing to begin a new career as teachers.  Stipends and bonuses available.
  • Military and Other Deferments - Deferment of loans with proper documentation.
