College of Business Scholarships

Note: Criteria for each scholarship are determined by donors and recipients are chosen by each department.

Andrew W. Koch, M.D. '47 and M. Jane (Grill) Koch '49 Scholarship

Established by Dr. Andrew '47 and Mrs. Mary Jane '49 Koch to provide a scholarship to a worthy full-time freshman majoring in a College of Business discipline, and who has demonstrated exceptional academic performance and community involvement.

J. Mark Piscitelli Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of J. Mark Piscitelli '93 by his parents Dr. Joseph and Diane Piscitelli, family, and friends to provide scholarship assistance to a Kutztown University business major. Eligible students must have demonstrated plans to study abroad, have completed 60 credit hours, and demonstrated successful academic performance.

Floyd O. Rowe Scholarship

Established by Russell '65 and Beverly Hinnershitz in memory of his business partner, Floyd O. Rowe, to provide financial assistance to a highly motivated College of Business student who has a demonstrated record of commitment to community service.

N. Wayne and Mary M. St. John Graduate Student Endowment Fund

Established by Dr. Mary (emerita professor of geography and former dean of Academic Services) and Mr. N. Wayne St. John to provide annual teaching assistance to a full-time graduate student in the College of Business in its outreach programs to small businesses. Recipients must be a full-time graduate student involved with the Small Business Development Center.

Accounting Club Scholarship

Established through the proceeds of Accounting Club activities and continuing education courses, as well as faculty and alumni donations, to recognize accounting majors who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom and leadership skills on campus. Eligible student must have completed 60 credits.

Robert Weiss Taxation Scholarship

Established in memory of Robert Weiss, taxation specialist on the accounting faculty, through the proceeds of Accounting Club activities and continuing education courses, as well as donations from family, colleagues, and friends. Recognizes accounting majors who have expressed an interest or demonstrated excellence in the specialty of taxation accounting. Eligible students will have at least 60 credits and be pursuing an accounting major.

Diefenderfer Family Scholarship

Established by Minnie Diefenderfer '21 in honor of herself, Paul Diefenderfer (husband), and Anna Diefenderfer (sibling) to recognize outstanding academic achievement in the College of Business, particularly in the area of finance. The student must be in good academic standing, maintain a 3.5 GPA, with preference given to students who have a sibling or parent who attended or is a graduate of Kutztown University.

The Leisure and Sports Studies Scholarship

Scholarship provides assistance to an ethical, full-time Leisure & Sport Studies major with financial need. Applicants must provide documentation on how they have worked to assist in the funding of his/her education and describe a situation where they behaved ethically.

Enlightened Leaders Endowed Scholarship

Established by anonymous donors to provide a deserving student with a scholarship covering the full cost of tuition, room & board, fees and incidental academic expenses. The eligible student must be enrolled in the College of Business, maintain a GPA of 3.0, and donate a minimum of 20 hours of advisor approved community service with disadvantaged/special needs children.

Curt Grim '91 Endowed Scholarship

Established by Curt '91 Grim to provide scholarship assistance to a College of Business student who has the greatest need.

Patrick Holleran '86 Endowed Scholarship

Established to provide financial support for College of Business students. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Gregory Gene Young '01 Endowed Scholarship

Established by Gregory G. Young (MBA '01) to provide scholarship assistance to an undergraduate student admitted to the College of Business and ineligible for state or federal grant programs.

Cindy Ernst '83 Scholarship

This scholarship will provide recognition and financial assistance to an outstanding undergraduate seniors enrolled in the BSBA Business Program with a major in accounting. Eligible students must maintain a 3.5 GPA

Brenda C. Zellner '86 Endowed Scholarship

Established by the Brenda C. Zellner Foundation and her family to provide scholarship support to a worthy business or education major. Eligible students who have experienced the loss of a biological or adoptive parent(s), reside in PA, be no older than 25, and minimum of 2.5 GPA will be considered.

William C. Kreitz '69 & Carol J. Smith Kreitz '68 Scholarship

Established by William C. Kreitz '69 and Carol J. Smith Kreitz '68 to provide financial support to two outstanding students, one from the College of Education (Elementary Education major) and one from the College of Business.

Rodney Hancock '97 Scholarship
Established in memory of Rodney Hancock '97, member of the KU football team from 1992-1996, to provide the football program with a permanent source of scholarship income. Eligible students should be a football player who is an accounting major.

Tom and Joanne Grant Scholar Athlete Scholarship

Established to provide recognition and financial assistance to two outstanding student-athletes currently enrolled in KU. The eligible student will have earned a minimum of 60 credits, maintained a GPA of 3.9, are majoring in Accounting in the College of Business.

David Haas Memorial Scholarship

Established to provide recognition and financial assistance to an outstanding senior status undergraduate currently enrolled in KU and majoring in Business Administration. Eligible student must be approved to receive the Certificate of Recognition in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
