Students in the biology program have the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research in their area of interest by working with any of our faculty members on campus (Faculty Research Interests). Additional opportunities exist for students interested in doing internships at off-campus sites such as Merck & Company, the Lehigh Valley Hospital, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Hawk Mountain, the Rodale Institute, the Wildlands Conservancy and several industrial labs.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in any of the various student organizations that exist on campus. Some of these include: the Health Careers Society, the Biology Club, the Marine Science Club, the Environmental Action Club, Botany Club, the Pre-Veterinary Club and the Kutztown Women in Science Club.

In addition to our excellent faculty and facilities on campus, the Biology Department has a formal cooperative program with The Chincoteague Bay Field Station at Wallops Island, VA. Kutztown University is also an active member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania University Biologists.
