KU's history display in the Old Main Concourse

KU'S history is now on display in the Old Main Concourse

Oct. 20, 2015

As a part of the KU Sesquicentennial Celebration, please be sure to visit the Old Main Concourse inside the main entrance portico for the "150 Years of Kutztown University of Pa. Memorabilia Display."

This special display of historical KU artifacts is open weekdays from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. through September of 2016.  It will also be open for special occasions, such as this weekend's 2015 Homecoming. This weekend's hours are Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The display features 11 cases of historic memorabilia, including nine cases in the rear concourse and two permanent cabinets on the wings. Historic photographs are on display throughout the concourse. In addition, the entire concourse has new carpeting and furniture, thanks to the efforts of KU facilities.

Kudos to the members of the Sesquicentennial History Subcommittee for their outstanding efforts to celebrate KU's past: Bill Bateman, chair; Susan Czerny; Patti Derr; Patrick Donmoyer; and Jason and Karen Graver.  Also, special thanks to Karen Stanford and Carol Sztaba for their assistance.

Be sure to stop by to see the humble beginnings of KU as the Keystone State Normal School.
