TAU Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha Student Affairs Honor Society 2016

The Kutztown University Student Affairs in Higher Education Graduate Program held its second induction ceremony for the TAU Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha Student Affairs Honor Society International on Tuesday, April 5th.  Ms. Kerri Gardi, 1997 alum of the program and KU Career Development Center Director was the featured speaker and this year's alumni inductee.  The TAU Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha 2015 inductees/May 2016 graduates received their graduation cords during the ceremony. Congrats to ALL!

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

April 10, 1963:  Kutztown State College is authorized by the state to grant the bachelor of fine arts degree.  The first students enroll in the program in fall, 1964.

COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENT PRESENTATION
On April 2 Matthew Tothero, graduate student in Computer Science, presented the paper "Toward a Design of for Teaching Cognitive Robotics" at the Annual Conference of Computer and Information Science Educators held on the KU campus.  He described the hardware and software design of the Finch, Initio and DiddyBorg robots which he worked on in conjunction with Dr. Oskars Rieksts.




  

NEW CAMPUS MAP WEBSITE
We have launched our new campus map website: http://www.kutztown.edu/CampusMap. The new map incorporates Google maps and has a location page for all buildings and locations on campus.  The locations are sortable by department and building types, and users can get customized directions to buildings.  The PDF/downloadable maps that were previously available on the old map are still there - just shown below the new interactive map.    If you have any questions or concerns, please contact leiboff@kutztown.edu.  Thanks to our Content Management System provider, Ingeniux, and Information Technology/Enterprise Software Development Office for helping to create this feature.

Back by popular demand! Join Drs. Angela Cirucci, Keith Massie, and Moe Folk for a dynamic exploration into the various ways social media can be harnessed in classroom settings to extend course content and encourage student learning. SATURDAY BASEBALL MOVED TO SUNDAY
Due to inclement weather forecasted this weekend, Kutztown University and Mansfield University have postponed their baseball doubleheader.  Originally scheduled for a Friday-Saturday series, KU will now host Mansfield at North Campus Field on Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m. KU will travel to Mansfield for another 1 p.m. doubleheader on Monday, April 11. Kutztown's originally scheduled game at Philadelphia University on Sunday has been postponed. A make-up date has yet to be determined.
