DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION TRAINING
The Institutional Climate Committee, a committee comprised of students, faculty, staff, and administrators, would like to take this opportunity to support the recent decision of the State System's Executive Leadership Group, which includes our KU leadership, to offer Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training for all members of our university community.
Data from Kutztown University’s recent Culturally Engaging Campus Environments Survey reflect a need for our campus community to coalesce around common language and understandings of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and to reaffirm the common goals, vision, and mission set forth in the DEI action items outlined by Dr. Hawkinson in his email to the community.
ICC sees this type of training as a critical beginning step toward meeting our campus goals.
Finally, we encourage evaluating the training’s effectiveness through data collection and analysis. The ICC is committed to being part of this important process.
