Kutztown University's Undergraduate Research and Creativity Faculty Advisory Board and the Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects awarded their second annual Undergraduate Research and Creativity Faculty Mentorship Awards at a ceremony held Wednesday, April 20. The awards recognize excellence in faculty engagement with undergraduate researchers. The four award recipients (two STEM and two non-STEM) are Dr. Yun (Amy) Lu, mathematics, Dr. Carol Mapes, biological sciences, Dr. Yongjae Kim, sport management and leadership studies, and Dr. Jennifer Schlegel, anthropology and sociology. Congratulations to the recipients and thank you for your dedication to our students.

Pennsylvania Cane Quest

The KU Braille Bears Club along with the non-profit agency, The Veering Cane, held the inaugural Pennsylvania Cane Quest on April 23 at Kutztown University. Children with vision loss from across Pennsylvania competed in travel challenges and were scored on cane safety and technique. While children were competing, parents participated in various sessions on state resources, technology and advocacy. More than 50 alumni and students in KU's visual impairment program volunteered to make the day a success.
