Equity and Awareness in the Arts

Kutztown University's Department of Art and Design presents Equity and Awareness in the Arts Virtual Lecture Series for the 2022 spring semester. The series of remote, live events are broadcast via KU's Art and Design YouTube channel. This lecture series brings together artists, designers, curators, public artists, children's book illustrators, interactive media and museum union leaders who share their creative processes, research and their diverse artistic practices. Speakers will address issues of climate change, social injustice, minority biases and arts as activism. In addition to KU students, faculty and staff, it is free and available to the public.

Watson Awarded 2022 Outstanding Research and Publication Award

Carol Watson, Kutztown University education professor, has received the 2022 Pennsylvania Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Outstanding Research and Publication Award. This award is given to PASCD members who have researched and published work within the past two years. "I am honored to have been chosen for this award by the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development," Watson said. "I have been lucky to work with many KU undergraduate students, teaching them the research process. It is their energy and curiosity that drive me as a researcher. I hope the findings from our work will support educators as we all continue to serve students to the best of our ability and knowledge."
