Another hazy, hot, and humid August day with temperatures topping out around 90. A shower or thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon, as is typical in summertime patterns like this. South winds around 8 mph with higher gusts in any storms.

United States Senator Bob Casey will visit Kutztown University today, Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. in Alumni Auditorium, MSU.  Senator Casey will be here to promote the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act which went into effect July 1.  A short press conference will be held at 11 a.m. followed by a time for feedback and questions from students, faculty and staff.  The entire KU community is encouraged to attend if able.

Orientation Reminder
The final freshmen orientation for fall 2015 will occur on Wednesday, August 19 beginning at 9:00 AM in the Academic Forum. A Parent/Family Program will occur on the same day and will be held in the Boehm Science Building also beginning at 9:00 AM. Prior to the start of the parent/family program, a marketplace will occur in the lobby of the Boehm Building. This is a full orientation day, with the same schedule of events and activities as the June 2015 orientation. We also welcome international students to this event.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, the final transfer orientation event will take place starting at 9 a.m. in the Academic Forum.  *Please note the change in the location from Schaeffer Auditorium. The event will occur in room 200. As with other transfer orientation events, the agenda includes morning presentations by faculty and staff and academic advising starting at 12:30 p.m. for Exploratory students and 1 p.m. for declared majors.

Many students and families will be visiting offices on both of these days to take care of last minute business needs. Please join us in welcoming these students and families to the KU community!
