Klein, Stephanie   

Stephanie Klein (Senior - B.S. Physics/Astronomy) and Dr. Phill Reed (Associate Professor - Astronomy & Physics) are representing Kutztown University at the 29th General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) this week in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Klein & Reed are presenting results of the research they conducted using KU's on-campus observatory.  Their spectroscopic work on magnetic fields, mass transfer, and stellar evolution caught the attention of the Daily Newspaper of the IAU General Assembly (issue 4, page 17).

Low pressure will move along a stalled front to our south and off the Carolina coast by afternoon. High pressure begins to work in for the weekend. Resulting pressure gradient could make for windy conditions. High temperature in the low 80s. East winds at 9 mph, gusting to 20 mph.

BOEHM SCIENCE BUILDING - AC SHUT DOWN NOTICE FOR TOMORROW, AUGUST 8
The air conditioning on the 3rd and 4th floors at Boehm Science building will shut down on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Preventive maintenance work is scheduled for the (2) air handlers that supply cooling to those floors. We apologize for any inconvenience.

OLD MAIN WATER SERVICE SHUT DOWN
The water service feeding Old Main will be shut down on Sunday, August 9 at 3 a.m. to repair a water main leak. You may expect the water to be off most of the day. Water will be restored once the repairs have been made. We apologize for any inconvenience.
