KU Presents! Single ticket sales begin Tuesday, August 2 at 11 am KU Presents! will begin single ticket sales on Tuesday, August 2 at 11:00 am. If it is anything like previous years, all our phone lines will be busy and voice mail will fill up fast. If your department receives calls, please ask patrons to be patient and continue trying to reach us at 610-683-4092. THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

August 1, 1918:  World War I sugar rations are cut to one half of a pound per person per week.  Keystone State Normal School is not exempt from the rule and must record sugar intake for each student, faculty and staff member.

IRON PIGS DUGOUT SUITE
Tuesday, August 2, 2016 - a few tickets still available
Come join KU Financial Services & Friends for a fun evening at Coca Cola Park in a dugout suite. The unique view from these seats is incredible. The evening includes early admission to the suite, a 2.5 hour buffet (fried chicken, Jaindl turkey BBQ, pasta dish, salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, cookies, fruit and more!) with unlimited soft drinks and waters. A small bar and restroom for just the dugout suites and access to the Club level bar and area. We have a handful of tickets left at $45.00 per person if you would like to join KU Financial & Friends. Email Wendy Pursell with urgency - first come first served!  This event is always a fun one!

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR UPCOMING EVENT
The Summer Academy students will be participating in a TASK night coordinated by the National Association of Art Educators (NAEA), a KU student organization, in August. Many of the needed supplies may be items in excess in our own homes or offices. If you have any of the following to donate, we would appreciate it! All quantities accepted.  Drop off is Office of Student Involvement, McFarland Student Union 153, across from the KU Campus Store by Friday, August 12. 

Bubble Wrap
Bunches of Fake Flowers
Yarn, string, ribbon, twine
Cardboard (boxes, inserts-any kind of cardboard) We need A LOT of this!
Wire Hangers
Fabric (old curtains or sheets?)
Any type of packing material (peanuts, Styrofoam, cardboard tubes, etc.)
Feathers
Tissue Paper
Construction Paper
Any other large amount of odd stuff you might have?  Let me know- maybe we can use it!

GOLDEN BEAR ATHLETICS

TRACK & FIELD PROGRAMS EARN TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL ACADEMIC HONORS FROM COACHES ASSOCIATION
The Kutztown University track & field programs earned team and individual academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2015-16 season on Thursday.  The women's track & field team earned an All-Academic Team award for holding a 3.29 GPA last year. A total of 117 women's teams and 66 men's teams earned the distinction as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher.  2016 marks the ninth straight year that the women's track & field team has earned the award.
