TODAY'S WEATHER

(Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger)

A nice Thursday under high pressure. Highs in the low 80s with soft and variable breezes. Check out the latest edition of "Weather & Climate Chat" with Dr. Michael Davis and Monsoon Mike Regensburger discussing last week's intense heat, this week's comfortable temperatures, and rumors of heat returning later next week. The two Michaels also discuss some climate change information that may raise a few eyebrows. You can hear it all at https://youtu.be/Ww0OItqCziA

THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

August 4, 1891:  The new east wing of Old Main is completed.  This four story structure stands today and is known as the A Wing, closest to Stratton Administration Building.  Once this section is completed, school directors agree to raze the existing buildings and construct a new five-story center building which we know today as B Wing.
