Dr. Donavan D. McCargo has been named assistant vice president and dean of students at Kutztown University, effective Aug. 21.  McCargo has been the dean of students at the Community College of Philadelphia since 2014.  Read the complete release here.

UNIVERSITY SENATE PRESIDENT AND COMMITTEE UPDATES
Please welcome Andrew Arnold, History, as the new University Senate President. Please direct any emails for the Senate President to senate@kutztown.edu .  During the 2017-18 academic year, John Ronan, English, will continue as Senate Vice-President and Lisa Norris, Art and Art History, will continue as Senate Secretary. 

Changes to the Senate website, including membership updates to Senate and University committees will be made by August 16. Please notify Mary Bononno, bononno@kutztown.edu of any changes to committee membership or University Senate representation by August 14.

GENDER AND SEXUAL MINORITIES CONFERENCE AT KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA
* Note: the conference has been changed to a one-day conference on Friday, Sept. 29.
Proposal Deadline Aug. 4
We cordially invite undergraduates, graduates, faculty, staff, activists and independent scholars to prepare presentations for the inaugural Gender and Sexual Minorities Conference at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Friday, Sept. 29. We encourage professionals from a wide variety of fields to submit a presentation and workshop proposals with specific learning outcomes focused on the topics of politics, healthcare, law, education, academic research, the arts and advocacy as it relates to the LGBT community. OLD MAIN FLOOR REFINISHING
Aug. 1 - 20
Selected wood floors will be refinishing in Old Main starting August 1 - 20. Wood floors in classrooms 136, 138, 140 and 141 will be redone. Wood landings outside of the D wing elevator on 1st and 2nd floors will be refinished. The F Wing's wood hallways on 1st and 2nd floors will be renovated as well. Please make sure not to cross caution taped areas while refinishing is ongoing. Thanks for your cooperation.
