KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY COUNCIL OF TRUSTEES NAMES NEW OFFICERS
The Kutztown University Council of Trustees has appointed new officers for the 2018-2020 academic years. Tom Heck has been appointed the chair of the trustees, Jim Ludlow has been appointed vice chair and Dr. Jolynn L. Haney ʼ84 Mʼ93 has been appointed secretary. High pressure from New England keeps a warm frontal system to our south. Several atmospheric disturbances to ride along the front but they should only produce a sprinkle at best. Day to be largely dry as mostly cloudy conditions are expected. High temperature near 80. Winds east at 6 mph.
 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

WORK SCHEDULE
Effective today, Monday, Aug. 20, offices and functions working on the modified summer schedule return to the normal academic year schedule of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch. These hours will be in effect through Friday, May 10, 2019.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHAEL DAVIS
The Department of Geography extends congratulations to Dr. Michael Davis and Mrs. Heather Davis on the birth of their first child, a son. Noah Louie Davis arrived August 8, at 11:53 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds 1.5 ounces and was 21 inches in length. All are doing well.

PROCUREMENT SERVICES STAFF CHANGES
Procurement Services would like to announce a few changes in our office:
- Mary Vink has accepted the position of purchasing agent 2 (purchasing card administrator). In addition to her Pcard duties, Mary will continue working with commodities, services and more. Contact Mary at 610-683-4904, vink@kutztown.edu, 223A Stratton Administration Center.
- Angela Jackson, a new employee, will be joining the Procurement Services Office as our purchasing agent 1 for commodities effective Monday, Aug. 20. SOLICITATION FORM REQUIREMENT CHANGE

Please note a procedural change that should simplify and expedite your solicitation space request confirmations. Reservations associated with MSU lobby tables, as well as the solicitation tables in Old Main Lobby, Rohrbach Library, Sharadin Lobby, and Boehm Lobby will no longer require the completion of an online solicitation form. The confirmation from EMS will serve as the reminder of the solicitation policy and any associated expectations related to the space reserved. Any solicitation taking place outside of those designated solicitation areas will still require a completed and approved form that can be found here: https://engage.kutztown.edu/forms. Questions? FACULTY AND STAFF CONVOCATION AND CELEBRATION
Aug. 24
The Faculty and Staff Convocation and Celebration will be held Friday, Aug. 24, in Schaeffer Auditorium. A continental breakfast will be served in the lobby at 8 a.m. with the program beginning at 9 a.m. The event will be a chance for us to celebrate all of our achievements and recognize many of our award winning faculty and staff members. The event will also provide insight on the new initiatives on campus. New employees will be introduced and faculty, staff and student leaders will be acknowledged for their service. The Employees of the Month will be recognized and the Employee of the Year will be announced as well as the coaches of the year. The event will culminate with the presentation of the Arthur and Isabel Wiesenberger Award for Excellence in Teaching. Finally, I will close the event with my "State of the University" address wherein I will share accomplishments and challenges we will be facing in the coming year.

KU TO CELEBRATE UNITY DAY
Aug. 30
Join campus leaders to celebrate our diversity and multicultural makeup at Unity Day at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, on Schaeffer Lawn. The event will take place during the university's annual Community Link Fair, which brings together local businesses with the campus community.
