Aug. 24
Come celebrate our faculty members who will receive The John P. Schellenberg Award for Teaching and Learning and the Chambliss Faculty Research Awards on Friday, Aug. 24, at the Faculty and Staff Convocation and Celebration. And also, cheer on and support your colleagues in athletics as men's basketball coach Bernie Driscoll, and wrestling and women's golf coach Robert Fisher are named Coaches of the Year. Breakfast at 8 a.m. with programming to being at 9 a.m. in Schaeffer Auditorium. We hope to see you there. Click on the link below for the online registration.

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger
Warm front followed by cold front will contribute to cloudiness with more rounds of those infamous showers and thunderstorms we have grown so used to this summer, any of which could cause some flash flooding. But hang in there ... some fantastic weather is coming in a couple days. Highs today around 78 degrees and humid.

Bear Essentials (, the weekly e-newsletter that goes to all students, begins this week. Deadline to submit each week is Tuesday at noon. The email goes out to students on Wednesdays. After the email goes to students, all faculty and staff receive the email as well. Submissions should be targeted for the general student population. View the submission form for more information (
