WEATHER

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger
The worst of our late season heat wave is over, but that doesn't necessarily mean today will be cool. Cold front doesn't move through until later so temperatures should still make it deep into the upper-80s. Also, be on the lookout for a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon and evening.

KU MATH STUDENTS HELP KUTZTOWN BOROUGH IMPROVE TRASH COLLECTION
During the Spring 2018 semester, three KU math students (Sean Andris, Joseph Ritzko and Daniel Steinberg) did independent study with the Kutztown Borough Public Works Department. They developed a math model that was used to recommend an easy to implement strategy that rebalances trash collection with minimal impact to residents (only a few residents had their collection days changed). Their recommendation was approved by Kutztown Borough Council in June and implemented in early August. This project provided the students with real-world experience while still KU students.
