KU receives "Local Leader" award from Miller-Keystone 

 

Miller-Keystone Blood Center has given Kutztown University their "Local Leaders" award for the most units of blood collected from institutions of higher education in Berks and Lehigh County for 2015. KU students, faculty and staff have donated 206 units over the past year.

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

Dec. 23, 1902:  The Reverend Dr. Abraham R. Horne passes away at the age of 68.  Horne was the second principal of the Keystone State Normal School, serving from 1872-1877.  He is buried in Fairview Cemetery adjacent to campus.

Kutztown University Radio (KUR) has worked very hard to line up a great docket of seasonal programming for listeners on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In addition to non-stop KUR holiday music spanning Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Seasonal Winter (corporate stations don't do all that for you), KUR also has several wonderful holiday specialty programs our staff worked hard preparing for you.

CHRIS BLUM TO BE CROWNED KING OF BASEBALLTOWN
Kutztown University baseball coach Chris Blum will be crowned the 2016 King of Baseballtown when the Reading Fightin Phils, Double- A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, host the 2016 Phillies Winter Banquet on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel starting at 6:30 p.m.  Read the story here.  




  

GREAT GOLDEN BEAR GOLF SCRAMBLE - SAVE THE DATE
The 2016 Great Golden Bear Golf Scramble will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at a new location of Rich Maiden Golf Course. Mark your calendars and save the date for June 13, as further details and registration information will be forthcoming in the coming months.
