MLS Student Awards

On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Modern Language Studies Department (MLS) bestowed awards on three of its graduating seniors. Catherine Espinal, BSEd Spanish, received the award for outstanding student in Spanish. 

Greg Haney, BSEd German and Special Education, received the award for outstanding student in German.

Molly Buckwalter, BA German Communication and Culture, received the Linda Oswald Bogert Memorial Award, which recognizes exemplary MLS students.

Dec. 9, 1959:  The state council of education approves Kutztown State College to award the Master of Education Degree in the elementary and art education curricula.

RACIAL CLIMATE WEBINAR
The MSU is pleased to provide access to faculty and staff for a presentation/webinar by Dr. Jaimie Washington, well-known advocate and former student affairs professional. Dr. Washington will present "Racial Climate on Campus: Rapid Response Webinar."

POLITICAL SCIENCE PRESENTATION
Dr. Roger Whitcomb, professor emeritus in political science, will explain the complicated relationship between Russia and Syria in an open presentation to the Kutztown Rotary Club in the President's Room (Room 250) of the McFarland Student Union Building, Kutztown University at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9.

FINALS WEEK HOURS

STUDENT REC CENTER & KEYSTONE POOL

Dec. 10                 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. (Pool 8-9 a.m., 12-1 p.m., 5:30-7 p.m.)
Dec. 11                 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Pool 8-9 a.m., 12-1 p.m.)
Dec. 12 - 13        CLOSED

Group exercise classes will end on Wednesday, Dec. 9.  Classes will resume next semester on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016.  Cheryl will not be conducting lunchtime workouts over winter break; however, videos will be made available. 

MULTICULTURAL CENTER
The Multicultural Center will be open with extended hours during Finals Week. The building is wireless, has computers and printers, free Scantrons for students, and light refreshments during evening hours, Dec. 6-9. Please advise students.

GOLDEN BEAR ATHLETICS

PSAC Basketball 


Junior forward Josh Johnson and redshirt-freshman guard Anthony Lee of the Kutztown University men's basketball team were recognized by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) on Monday for their performances during last week. Johnson was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week, while Lee earned Freshman of the Week honors.  Read their stories here.
