Art and Art History's Professor Rose DeSiano Galjanic's solo show "Heroes and Beasts," was reviewed by Patricia A. Hines in the Stamford Advocate newspaper. The exhibition hosts over ten oversized photo jacquard weave tapestries, blending war reenactors and staged taxidermy - conflating history with myth, and questioning how contemporary and historical uses of photography and image manipulation shape our histories.  DeSiano's exhibit is on view at the UConn-Stamford Art Gallery in Connecticut thru late December. Link to online newspaper version: http://www.stamfordadvocate.com/local/article/Artist-offers-new-way-to-look-back-at-WWII-10634171.php

TODAY'S EVENTS

(Click Here for the Central Calendar)

All Day Faculty and Staff Appreciation Days, KU Campus Store
9 a.m. & 1 p.m. AlphaGraphics Training, KU Card Office Webex Meeting

TODAY'S WEATHER

(Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger)

Cool front slips through today but it doesn't have much juice with it at all. At the very most, 10 percent of the area may see a renegade rain or snow shower, but I think most areas remain dry with just some clouds around. Highs in the low 40s with northwest breezes turning a bit gustier later in the day.
