IN MEMORIAM
We regret to inform you retired professor Richard A. Law, Sr., Ph.D., passed away Nov. 21. He taught English at Kutztown University from 1962-92. Dr. Law, together with Dr Connie Dent, co-founded KU’s Women’s Studies program. He served as associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1970-71, acting dean of CLAS in 1971-72, and acting dean of the College of Graduate Studies 1984-85. Presented Kutztown State College’s first Distinguished Teaching award in 1975, Law was named a 1976 Commonwealth Teaching Fellow and the recipient of the state’s highest award for excellence in teaching and academic service – Distinguished Teaching Chair. When asked about him, Dr. Anne Zayaitz said, “Dr. Law was a true gentleman.” After a long and distinguished career at KU, he went on to teach another 28 years at Alvernia University.
