I Heart KU Week is February 6-10.  Be sure to stop by the table in the MSU every day this week from 10 a.m. -4 p.m. to show your love for donors, students, faculty/staff, and parents. Enjoy this week to celebrate all that is great about KU!

Feb. 2, 2013- Former United States Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is killed at a shooting range, in an effort to help Eddie Ray Routh, who severely suffered from PTSD. The Veterans Services Center provides Green Zone/Got Your Six sensitivity awareness training that educates faculty and staff about the student-veteran transition experience so they can become campus advocates. We encourage everyone on campus to remain vigilant and assist us in this effort.

Feb. 6, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Faculty and staff are invited to stop by with President Hawkinson during his free hour Monday, Feb. 6, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Free hours will occur on the first Monday of the month in 303 Stratton. Dr. Hawkinson welcomes your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions regarding Kutztown University.

The Keystone Hall swimming pool will be closed on Monday, Feb. 6, from noon-1 p.m.

Feb. 6, 11 a.m.
The Office of Social Equity will offer its first Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Sexual Harassment Training of the semester Monday, Feb. 6, 11 a.m., 312 McFarland Student Union. This session should last approximately 30-45 minutes. If you would like to attend, please register by e-mail at Please obtain approval from your supervisor if necessary.

Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Sexual Harassment Training is also available from the Office of Social Equity through Desire2Learn (D2L). 

As a reminder, all faculty and staff members should complete this training on a yearly basis.

Feb. 8, 2 p.m.
"How Best to Interact With and Respond To Students When They Are Angry, Upset, Stressed or Distressed: A Program for Support Staff" by Dr. Bruce Sharkin, Counseling and Psychological Services. This program is designed to help support staff members in their handling of difficult or challenging situations involving students. Join us Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 2-3 p.m. in 280 OM. Please encourage your students to attend the final Senior Kickoff on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 11-11:50 a.m., in MSU 218 (Multi-purpose Room).  Students will receive the information and support they need to successfully find employment and/or admission to graduate school. They will walk away with the knowledge, resources and enthusiasm to finish strong at KU.  Free gift for every senior who attends. Yes, attendance will be taken and shared with faculty who require and/or give extra credit for attending.

We are in the process of distributing folders with information about ordering online, paper samples and some other goodies. We provided one per department but are happy to drop off more. Please contact us at the Print Center if you would like more. Also, if you would like additional training on using the Online Ordering site in person or with a group please let us know and we will arrange convenient times.
