KU Announces Sustainability Assessment
The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a self-assessment tool used by institutions of higher education to measure their sustainability progress. STARS will serve as the basis for developing the environmental sustainability plan envisioned in the Strategic Plan 2021-24 Goal 5 Sustainability of Resources and Stewardship of Place. STARS will also enable Kutztown University to benchmark with our peers. Participating in STARS requires a substantial amount of data collection in four main categories, academics, engagement, operations, and planning and administration. Nicole Prantow is a student intern spearheading data collection efforts. She will be sending emails this week to the President’s Cabinet requesting information from various staff. Thank you for your support.

The History You Weren’t Taught in School
As we continue to observe Black History Month, I want to share an excellent body of work presented by MasterClass titled, "The History You Weren’t Taught in School." This series contains presentations from seven preeminent voices from the Black community: Jelani Cobb, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Angela Davis, John McWhorter, Cornel West and Sherrilyn Ifill. “From critical race theory to the 1619 Project, learn from seven Black intellectuals who are reshaping conversations on race in America. Deepen your knowledge of Black-American experiences, past to present, with groundbreaking scholars.” Here is the link to the MasterClass: Black History, Black Freedom & Black Love (masterclass.com).
