TODAY'S WEATHER

(Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger)

Our first real opportunity for at least a little bit of accumulating snow this winter season. Cloudy skies. Chance of snow showers after about noon and continuing periodically until the evening. Some snow showers could be briefly heavy and dust up the roads making for slippery p.m. travel. Not expecting much more than a half inch or so total but it'll still be more than we've seen all winter. Highs in the 30s. Light and variable winds increasing to about 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

Jan. 12, 1938:  Construction begins on a 20-foot road leading from College Blvd., behind the President's Residence and the site where Schaeffer Auditorium will be built later that year, to the library, known today as the Graduate Center.  Pieces of this road are still in use today.
