MLK Day of Service at KU 

  

Dozens of KU students spent the Martin Luther King Day holiday serving the local community.  Students installed smoke detectors in the City of Reading and assisted at the Greater Berks Food Bank, Phoebe Berks, Breast Cancer Support Services, Aarons Acres and Mary's Home.

Jan. 25, 1943:  Director of Art Education at Kutztown, Italo, deFrancesco, finishes his Doctor of Education degree at New York University.  His thesis is "An Evaluation of Curricula for the Preparation of Teachers of Art."

Join us in our newly renovated all-you-care-to-eat restaurant with a wide variety of seating environments to make you feel relaxed and ready to take on whatever the day brings!

We have all your old favorites at Stacked, Sizzle, and Sprout. We're serving it up fresh at our made-to-order station where you pick the ingredients, and we prepare it right in front of you! Try something new at Savvy... Our international station & try new takes on old favorites at Supper! Look for something a little simpler, check out our sensitive station, fully stocked with items for those students with different dietary needs.

MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT RATE CHANGE
Effective Jan. 1, 2016, the reimbursement rate for use of a personal automobile for official State System travel has decreased to 54.0 cents per mile.

NON-OVERNIGHT MEAL REIMBURSEMENT - Effective January 1, 2016 - All reimbursements for meals as part of non-overnight travel expenses will be paid through payroll in compliance with IRS regulations. Please continue to submit all non-overnight travel expense reimbursement requests to Accounts Payable. The meal reimbursements will be forwarded automatically to Payroll when appropriate. Qualifying meal reimbursements will be paid on the next available pay date.

PA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE RULING ON LOCAL/COUNTY HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX EXEMPTION
Effective Jan. 4, 2016 - Employees who travel in Pa. on State System business MUST provide both the PA SALES TAX EXEMPTION form and the LOCAL OCCUPANCY HOTEL TAX letter (found on our website) to avoid being charged the LOCAL hotel occupancy tax. The letter notes that State System employees are NOT exempt for the STATE hotel occupancy tax.
