Fine Arts professor Evan Summer has been voted the third winning artist for his print piece, "Northern Sky," in the Premio Leonardo Sciascia amateur d'estampes print show, which has exhibitions throughout Italy.

Summer will be presented with the award at a public ceremony in Milan at Sala della Balla in the Piazza Castello, which is also the location where Summer's print will be donated at the end of the last exhibition at Fondazione Federica Galli. He will also be eligible for three supplementary exhibitions of a selection of his works at the Museum of Paper and Watermark in Fabriano, Il Bisonte Foundation in Florence and the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice. Summer has been making prints for over 35 years, and his work is included in many permanent collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, the Brooklyn Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

High pressure retreats to the east allowing low pressure to come in from the south. Clouds will be increasing throughout the day. Jan. 22, 2009:  The newly renovated and expanded Sharadin Arts Building is dedicated. 



Due to the expected snow storm this weekend the Cub Café will not be open Saturday, but will be open during its regular hours Sunday, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.  In addition Starbucks will be open Saturday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.  and its regular hours on Sunday.  The South Dining Hall will be open all weekend during its regular hours.  Thank you.


The Cub Café is now accepting white meal tickets as well as the South Side Café, in the South Dining Hall.  If your party is for 10 or more people please email Nate Haftl in advance so Aramark can staff their dining venues accordingly.  Please give Aramark plenty of notice of the date; time and which dining venue you will be using.  Breakfast $6.15, Lunch $7.30 or Dinner $8.35 meal tickets maybe purchase through SAP purchase requisitions.  Aramark's vendor #1077038. If they have authorized pending financial aid and are just awaiting a refund - they MAY be eligible for a bookstore account at our very own KU Campus Bookstore. ·         One account per person per semester.

·         3 different account amounts - $200, $500 or $750

·         Account can be ready as quickly as 2 business days!

·         Complete the form and turn into Financial Aid today!

·         Deadline to request the account is Wed, Jan 27 and purchases must be made by end of day Friday, Jan 29.

Due to forecasted snow on Saturday, the Kutztown University and Mercyhurst University wrestling teams have moved their match, originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 at Keystone Arena, to a neutral location of East Stroudsburg University for a tri-meet on Friday, Jan. 22 at 5 p.m.
