THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

 

In January 1889, the number of students studying music at Keystone State Normal School reaches 75, with 40 studying instrumental and 35 studying vocal music.  Due to the unprecedented numbers, the Committee on Instruction hires Ella Kramlich to serve as assistant to George C. Young, the school's professor of music.

STUDENT REC CENTER LOCKER ROOM CLOSURE
The men's and women's locker rooms at the Student Recreation Center will be closed for maintenance Tuesday, Jan. 12 and Wednesday, Jan. 13.




  

AFSCME 2234 MEETING
AFSCME 2234 members are advised of our membership meeting with time and location changes.  Meetings are held the 3rd Monday of every month and beginning Jan. 18, 2016 our monthly Union meetings will be held on the KU campus at 5 p.m. in McFarland Student Union 250.  Refreshments will be provided.  Please plan to attend and become involved in your union.
