The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be hosting admitted first-year and transfer students for fall 2017 at Accepted Student Days on the following Saturdays: February 25, March 25, April 8, and April 22.  Many of the attendees make their final college choice based upon their experience at these events.  Please help us welcome the admitted students and their families to the Golden Bear community.

Nominations Deadline March 1
The College of Education announces a new initiative to recognize highly qualified COE graduates with our Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. We seek to bestow this honor on 2-4 recipients each year. The award recognizes a career of extraordinary accomplishment, based on significant contributions to a field related to our College, which should involve outstanding professional experience, scholarship and/or service to the community. Award recipients are selected by a committee and will be honored during a late spring celebration.

Nominations should include: (1) a detailed letter (2-3 pages) from a nominator that provides specific information about the person's "career of extraordinary accomplishment"; (2) one additional letter of reference; (3) if possible, the nominee's current resume; and (4) contact information for both the nominator and the nominee. The information should be emailed to Cheryl Faust, administrative assistant to the COE dean, at, or mailed (or delivered) to Cheryl Faust, College of Education, 231 Beekey Education Center, Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA 19530. Senior Bowl
Kutztown University graduate Jordan Morgan is well on his way to becoming KU's next player in the National Football League. Morgan's talent and accolades earned him an invite to next week's Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., and has garnered him media attention throughout his hometown Philadelphia.
KYW Radio, a part of CBS Philly, interviewed Morgan leading up to his near departure for Alabama. Listen to the entire interview here:
Moving on to Alabama, Morgan is 1-of-3 Division II players that received an invite to compete in the Reese's Senior Bowl - the top Senior Bowl in the country - on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 2:30 p.m. ET from Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game, and all practices during the week, will air live on NFL Network.
NFL Network provides live coverage of Senior Bowl week practices Tuesday, Jan. 24 - Thursday, Jan. 26, starting Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET and Wednesday and Thursday at 1 p.m. ET.  One-hour 2017 Senior Bowl Recap shows air Tuesday - Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.  The KU Sports Information and University Relations staff will be on-site to provide in-depth coverage on Morgan's week in Alabama. The 22nd-ranked Kutztown University wrestling team will host its first-ever dual meet tournament this weekend. The Kutztown University Duals are set for Jan. 20-21 at Keystone Arena, bringing 10 teams to one location for six rounds of competition.  Action on Friday, Jan. 20 gets underway at 6 p.m. with two rounds of matches. Saturday features four rounds of wrestling, beginning at 10 a.m. Four mats will be used throughout the duals.  The participating teams are American International, Belmont Abbey, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, LIU Post, Millersville, Minot State, Seton Hill, Shippensburg and Tiffin.

The KU athletic department will be participating in a month-long food drive, called "Bears Give Back," throughout the month of January. All non-perishable food donations collected during that time will be given to the on-campus food pantry and Friends Inc.  Fans are encouraged to participate and donations will be accepted at basketball games on Jan. 25, as well as wrestling's Kutztown University Duals on Jan. 20-21.  Anyone who brings one non-perishable food donation to any of the basketball games will be given a ticket that can be redeemed for a free hotdog or bag of chips. Then at the game on Jan. 25, which is sponsored by the KU Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), a donation will gain entrance to a drawing for a Giant gift card.  In addition to accepting donations at athletic events, Kutztown will also have designated donation boxes set up in Keystone Hall throughout the month. The athletic department encourages all students, student-athletes, faculty, administration and fans alike to be a part of this initiative and help the "Bears Give Back."
