Alumna Competes at Olympic Trials for Long Track Speedskating

Kutztown University alumna McKenzie Browne ’19 competed at her first USA Olympic Trials for long track speedskating this month. Browne has been skating on ice for only three seasons but has an extensive and successful history with competitive inline speedskating. A Coopersburg, Pa. native, Browne lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. She competed in the 500m and 1000m events during the week of Jan. 3.

Rylee Derr Nets History

Rylee Derr etched her name in the Kutztown University women's basketball record book Saturday, becoming the program's all-time leader in career points. With a three-pointer at the 4:45 mark of the first quarter, Derr recorded her record-breaking 1,624th career point, surpassing the previous program record of 1,623 by Melissa McQuade (2007-11). The 24th-ranked Golden Bears won their ninth straight game, defeating Mercyhurst 73-68. Derr is also the all-time leader in 3-pointers made with 302.
