Faculty First Thursday

Drs. Keith Massie, Barbe Forgarty and Juliana Svistova will present research at Faculty First Thursday, 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, in 13G Schaeffer Auditorium and via Zoom. They will discuss research that examines tweets using #coronavirus from March 4 to May 20, 2020. The initial dataset, collected from the Kutztown University TCAT, included more than 138 million tweets across 36 variables. The work analyzes the content and frequency of users’ tweets about mitigation practices like, but not limited to, hand washing, social distancing and mask wearing; additionally, it addresses the frequencies of relevant CDC tweets and users’ retweets of such CDC tweets.
