Kutztown Folk Festival

WEATHER

High pressure will rule the day and provide for a very pleasant day. Ample sunshine and light breezes are expected. Moisture levels will be fairly comfortable as well. High temperature in the mid-80s. Winds west at 5-8 mph.

CONDOLENCES TO THE CONRAD FAMILY
It is with a heavy heart that I report Richard Conrad, husband of recently retired Sylvia Conrad from the registrar’s office, has lost his battle with cancer and passed away Friday, June 28.The funeral will be Wednesday, July 3. Calling hour will be from 10-11 a.m. (closed casket) at Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, Pennsylvania. Service will begin at 11 a.m. with internment at Longswamp Union Cemetery in Mertztown, Pa. A luncheon will follow at Janelle's Catering in Bowers, Pa. Any kind of dessert will be appreciated for the luncheon.

LUNCH AT THE FOLK FESTIVAL
KU faculty and staff are invited to have lunch at the festival, June 29 - July 7. You will receive free entry to the festival with your KU ID or business card weekdays between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The festival offers two restaurants serving full-course Pennsylvania Dutch meals, a variety of homemade soups and sandwiches plus festival favorites including sausage, potpie, corn fritters, funnel cake, shoo-fly pie and apple dumplings. OLD MAIN CIRCLE CLOSED
July 1
A tree service will be working on the east side of Old Main Circle between C and A wings Monday, July 1. Due to safety concerns parking will not be permitted in the A wing parking spaces. Vehicles may not be able to use the eastern portion of the Old Main Circle until the work is completed. We also suggest walkers find alternate routes for their safety. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

Accounts Payable has received the following communication from Main Street Inn Boutique Hotel: “Beginning July 1, 2019, we will no longer be invoicing Kutztown University for rooms reserved. When making a reservation with us, the person making it will need a credit card to hold the room. When the guest checks in, the card will be charged. You will then be emailed your receipt. If it is not a Kutztown University issued credit card, there will be taxes applied. We are sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. Sincerely, Pam Corrado/Main Street Inn.” Effective today, Monday, July 1, the P-Card should be used for making reservations with the Main Street Inn.
