PEÑA NAMED KU’S VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMPLIANCE, EQUITY AND LIAISON FOR LEGAL AFFAIRS
Jesus A. Peña, Esq., has been named vice president for Compliance, Equity and liaison for Legal Affairs at Kutztown University. In his new role, Peña will oversee the offices of Disability Services, Public Safety and Police Services and Social Equity. He will lead KU's protection of minors efforts and the creation, implementation and oversight of the university's Risk Assessment Plan. He will also conduct all Article 42, 22 and Title IX investigations. Additionally, Peña has agreed to serve as the interim Title IX coordinator for Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, providing support and coordination for matters related to Title IX within the State System. BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETING WEDNESDAY IN HARRISBURG
July 10, 1 p.m.
The State System of Higher Education Board of Governors will meet at 1 p.m. today, July 10, at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg. The Board of Governors will review their annual agenda at its public meeting and set the tuition rate for the 2019-2020 academic year. The meeting will be streamed live beginning at 1 p.m.

The KU ID card production system and register for Bear Bucks deposits will be down July 16 and July 17, for an upgrade of the Blackboard system. If you have any ID card or photo needs, please have them taken care of before or after those dates. Thank you.

PEBTF KNOW YOUR NUMBERS
Aug. 8
Register online now for Kutztown University’s annual PEBTF Know Your Numbers wellness screening on Thursday, Aug. 8, in the Georgian Room. To be eligible for lower healthcare contribution rates for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, employees (partners do not have to participate) must complete a wellness screening by Dec. 31, 2019. Please register through PEBTF’s website and follow that to Quest Diagnostics to register for a time at our Aug. 8 onsite screening. Thank You.

CONDOLENCES TO THE PURSELL FAMILY
Dr. Robert F Dorner, father of Wendy Pursell, director of student accounts, and father-in-law of Richard Pursell, KUSSI, passed away Thursday, June 27, in Charleston, South Carolina. Dorner was a professor and deputy chair at Montclair State University for 41 years before retiring in 2009. He won many accolades in the fields of electronics, robotics and physics including demonstration of the year in 1998 by the American Association of Physics Professors. Condolences may be shared with Wendy, Rich and their family either through her office 225 Stratton Administration Center or his at the KU Campus Store.
