WEATHER

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger

Today might be the first day in a while without the concern for much in the way of pop-up precipitation. It will still be plenty steamy. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Heat index in the upper 90s. Those pesky shower and thunderstorm chances may return tomorrow with more in the way of atmospheric disturbances in play tomorrow rather than today.

DEMAND RESPONSE TEST FRIDAY, JULY 16
Kutztown University campus is participating in the Emergency Demand Response Program. Through this program, Met-Ed asks large customers to reduce their power usage when the electrical grid is overloaded. A mandatory test is scheduled 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 16. Every little bit helps. The campus community is encouraged to participate by:
– Turning off non-essential electrical devices (coffee machines, TVs, printers, microwaves).
– Turning off lights in administrative, academic, athletic and residential spaces.
– Raising the temperature on operable thermostats to 76 degrees.
– Making sure windows and doors are closed in air-conditioned spaces.
– Using the stairs if you are able instead of elevators.
Thank you for your assistance.
