KU HOSTS PRESS CONFERENCE FOR STATE DEI FUNDING
State Senator Art Haywood and the State System (PASSHE) held a hybrid press conference at Kutztown University Wednesday, to announce new funding for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives at PASSHE universities. PASSHE will allocate $2.5 million towards DEI goals for the fiscal year 2021-2022. The $2.5 million will help to promote diversity amongst the general education curriculum and employees, improve campus climate and increase student success initiatives that positively impact under-represented and low-income students. BRIANNA HUGHES NAMED 2020-21 KU FEMALE FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Brianna Hughes stepped into a starting role for the Golden Bear softball team from the get go and never looked back in a season brimming with success. Hughes, who led the team with 47 runs scored and was a finalist for NFCA Division II National Freshman of the Year, has been named the 2020-21 Kutztown University Female Freshman of the Year. XAVIER FELICIANO DOUBLES UP 2020-21 KU MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Xavier Feliciano of the Golden Bear track & field team completed a sweep of Kutztown University's annual awards when he was named the 2020-21 KU Male Athlete of the Year. Feliciano won Male Senior Athlete of the Year last month and is the first KU male student-athlete to capture both awards in an academic year since football's Jordan Morgan in 2016-17.
