TODAY'S EVENTS

(Click Here for the Central Calendar)

All Day                  CONNECTIONS New Student Orientation

TODAY'S WEATHER

(Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger)

Partly Sunny skies but you'll probably notice some increasing high and mid-level clouds in the p.m. ahead of a slow-moving cold front which will probably make Friday much less bright than it's been, and wetter, too. Highs today a pleasant 79 or 80. Soft southeast breezes.

THE SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

THIS MONTH IN KU HISTORY

(Historical facts have been compiled from the KU Archives and Special Collections of the Rohrbach Library; the archives of the Keystone; Kutztown Patriot, Allentown Leader and Reading Eagle; and Beacon on the Hill by Dr. Lee Graver.)

June 1, 1926:  Commencement exercises are held at the Keystone State Normal School.  A new tradition of inviting alumni back to celebrate commencement week with the graduating class is overwhelmingly popular.  All underclassmen are dismissed before the week begins and alumni move in to the empty dormitory rooms for the celebration.
