BB&T has donated $50,000 to the Jump Start Incubator at Berks County Community Foundation to support the program that helps launch new small businesses.  The incubator is a program run by the Community Foundation with support from the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (KUSBDC). Members of the incubator are offered affordable office space, professional guidance, and mentoring and networking opportunities.  Read the complete story here.

Weak high pressure provides a partly sunny, cooler day with highs around 80. Winds will kick up a little at times, as well, up to as high as 20 mph, so it'll feel a step cooler than yesterday which was a step cooler than the day before.

KUTZTOWN FOLK FESTIVAL
July 1 - 9 All Kutztown University Staff are welcome to attend the Kutztown Folk Festival during your lunch break from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. free of charge. Please present your Kutztown University ID for admittance.  The festival is scheduled from July 1 through the 9. We look forward to seeing you!  
 


  
CONDOLENCES
We offer our sincerest condolences to Susan (Sue) Haas, verification coordinator, and her family in the loss of her father and family patriarch, Frederick K. Kitson, 90 years, of Macungie, Pa.  Funeral services are private at the request of the family. AFSCME 2234 MEMBERS MEETING
June 19 We will be voting on delegates to attend District Council 88 Educational Leadership Conference to be held at Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center, August 18 - 20, 2017.  We will also be discussing changes to our local constitution. Hoping to see you at our next meeting in MSU 250 at 5 p.m., Monday, June 19 (change in room).

KU TO HOST SUMMER FILMMAKING INSTITUTE
June 19 - 23
The Kutztown University Department of Electronic Media will host a Summer Filmmaking Institute (SFI) June 19-23.    SFI is a week-long filmmaking program designed to provide an intense and rewarding introduction to the ever-evolving world of digital filmmaking. It offers an introduction to the theories and techniques of digital movie making for students of all ages.  On campus housing is available for the duration of the institute. MEN'S BASKETBALL DAY CAMP
June 19 - 23
The KU Men's Basketball staff is holding a summer basketball day camp from June 19 - 23. The cost of the camp is $175. It is for boys and girls in grades 3-12 who have played basketball or who would like to learn how to play. The camp runs daily from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Keystone Arena. If you are interested in signing up or would like more information on the camp, please contact Tom York, assistant coach, Men's Basketball at 610-683-4366(O) or e-mail tyork@kutztown.edu.  All proceeds from the camp go toward men's basketball scholarships. Come out and support men's basketball and elevate your game.
